1. What TV-DV is
TV-DV is an Android TV app for watching and managing media from services the user chooses to add. TV-DV does not provide, host, sell, retransmit, or supply IPTV channels, programmes, VOD catalogues, or media streams.
Users add their own compatible IPTV and RSS sources. Media, channel listings, programme guides, and provider catalogues come from those user-configured services.
2. Account and sign-in information
TV-DV processes your account email address and the technical sign-in/session information needed to create your account, confirm your email, keep you signed in, recover your password, and protect access to your account.
Your account password is used to authenticate you. TV-DV does not store or log your plaintext password. Password-recovery links are used only to complete the requested reset and sensitive recovery information is removed from the visible browser address as soon as the recovery page loads.
3. Registered devices
When you register a TV-DV installation to your account, TV-DV stores a unique app-generated device identifier, the device name shown in TV-DV, the registration time, whether that device is currently registered, and information needed to manage your device slots.
TV-DV also records the approximate time of the device's most recent successful account check-in. This is not viewing history, the last channel watched, playback duration, or continuous location/presence tracking.
4. TV service/source information
TV-DV can synchronize the TV service/source information you choose to save so your registered devices can use the same sources. When required, this can include source credentials or URLs containing access information. Those sensitive values are stored using protected server-side storage.
TV-DV does not upload or proxy your IPTV media streams through the TV-DV account service. Your TV-DV device connects directly to your configured provider for channels, programme-guide information, VOD/series catalogues, and playback.
5. Live TV customizations
TV-DV can synchronize changes you make to your Live TV experience, such as favorites, hidden channels or groups, renamed channels or groups, and group ordering.
6. RSS feeds
Saved RSS feed names, categories, ordering, and feed URLs can be synchronized with your TV-DV account. Feed URLs are protected because some feeds may include private access information.
RSS articles and headlines are fetched directly by your TV-DV device from the RSS source. Whether a saved feed is enabled on a particular TV remains a device-specific setting.
7. Movie and series information
TV-DV may use general information such as a title, year, runtime, content type, and supported external identifiers to match movies and series with richer programme information.
When needed, TV-DV may send limited title or identifier information to TheTVDB to look up movie or series metadata. IPTV passwords, provider login credentials, and media stream URLs are not required for this lookup.
General movie and series information may be shared across TV-DV accounts and may remain after an individual account is deleted because it is not stored as that user's private account information.
8. Information stored on your TV/device
Some information is normally stored only on the TV-DV device rather than synchronized as account data. This currently includes:
- recordings and recording/storage settings;
- timeshift data;
- VOD watch history and resume positions;
- appearance and player preferences;
- saved weather locations;
- Android Home/launcher and accessibility compatibility settings;
- startup and catch-up preferences;
- device-specific RSS enabled/disabled choices;
- temporary local copies and caches used to make TV-DV faster.
TV-DV can also keep local working copies of information synchronized with your account. TV-DV removes that account-linked working data when you sign out or when the device is no longer authorized for the account. A temporary network outage alone does not cause that cleanup.
9. Direct communication with other services
Some features connect directly from your TV-DV device to services outside TV-DV:
- Your IPTV providers: TV-DV requests channels, programme-guide data, VOD/series information, provider information, and media streams directly from the provider you configured.
- Your RSS sources: feed and article content is fetched directly from the URL you added.
- MET Norway: TV-DV uses MET Norway's weather service for forecasts. The latitude and longitude of the weather location you select are included in forecast requests. Searching for a weather location name uses data included with TV-DV rather than an online location-search service.
- Custom logo URLs: if you add a remote logo URL, TV-DV downloads that image directly from the host you chose and stores a local copy.
- Android speech recognition: if you use voice search and grant microphone permission, speech processing may happen on the device or through the speech service provided by the Android device/platform.
10. Local-network coordination
TV-DV can coordinate stream usage between TV-DV devices on the same local network. This may exchange device names/identifiers, provider identity, and stream-usage/control information between those devices. This local-network communication is separate from your persistent TV-DV account data.
11. Optional Android TV accessibility feature
On supported Android TV/NVIDIA Shield setups, you can optionally enable TV-DV's Home compatibility accessibility feature. It is used to recognize certain launcher/window changes needed for that feature. TV-DV does not use it to read screen text, enter text, or perform accessibility gestures, and the events used by this feature are not uploaded to the TV-DV account service.
12. Service providers used by TV-DV
TV-DV uses third-party services to operate account and support features:
- Supabase: account sign-in, account data storage, synchronized account features, and account security functions.
- Brevo: delivery of transactional account emails such as email confirmation and password recovery.
- Cloudflare: hosting of TV-DV's public account and privacy pages.
- TheTVDB: movie and series metadata lookup when required.
13. Analytics, advertising, and crash reporting
The current TV-DV app does not include an advertising SDK or a third-party analytics/crash-reporting SDK such as Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics, Sentry, or a similar service. If that changes, this policy and the applicable Google Play disclosures will be updated before the change is released.
14. Account deletion
You can permanently delete your TV-DV account from the app or through the public deletion page at https://account.driftwoodoceans.com/delete.
Deleting the account removes your TV-DV sign-in identity and account-specific cloud information, including registered devices, synchronized source information and saved source credentials, Live TV customizations, saved RSS feeds, and other information stored specifically for your account.
General movie and series information that is not linked to your personal account may remain in TV-DV's shared metadata database. Information stored only on your TV, such as recordings, timeshift data, VOD watch history/resume positions, and device-specific settings, is not automatically removed by cloud account deletion.
Deleting your TV-DV account does not cancel or delete accounts or subscriptions you have with IPTV providers or other third-party services.
15. Retention
Account-specific cloud information is generally kept while your TV-DV account exists and is removed when you permanently delete the account.
General movie and series metadata that is not linked to a personal account may be retained for continued operation of the TV-DV metadata service. Service providers may also keep limited operational, security, or email-delivery logs according to their own service settings and retention practices.
16. Security
TV-DV uses authenticated account/device access, encrypted HTTPS connections for TV-DV account communications, protected server-side storage for eligible synchronized credentials, and protected Android device storage for sensitive local account information. No security system can guarantee absolute protection.
17. Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated if TV-DV materially changes the information it collects, synchronizes, shares, or processes, or if new analytics, billing, licensing, telemetry, or other cloud services are introduced.
